Malcolm Wilson is a current MFA Lighting Designer attending the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television specializing in lighting design and innovative storytelling through Unreal Engine and other nontraditional means. Using both lighting design and Unreal Engine, he creates live and virtual worlds for immersive storytelling. He is driven to push boundaries and aims to captivate audiences with his unique, visually powerful perspective.
Malcolm uses his training in theatrical and event lighting design to help tell stories in newer mediums by using nontraditional means of telling stories. By using interactive screens, Unreal Engine, and camera tracking, Malcolm hopes to help tell new stories and inspire new work and experiences.
Malcolm is inspired by the world and art around him and uses new technology to enhance the realism and stylization of virtual worlds, renderings, and storytelling.
